Hello chess club members! Want some extra chess tournament practice? In offline chess tournaments “House Players” are players that will “fill in” if a tournament participant does not show up or there are an odd number of players.

Beginning today, April 22nd, I will be testing out a new feature on the Cohen Chess Club website known as "House Players". This is a completely free and optional feature.

This feature will be created for two purposes

1. To ensure that each tournament has enough players for quick pairing and if possible an even number of players so no one has to sit out a round
2. Provide an opportunity for extra chess practice while still allowing each club to have its own weekly GM, IM and NM titles

How the "House Player" system will work

1. Players interested in extra practice must join the "House Club" on Cohen Chess Club before asking to join as a house player. The link is here https://cohenchessclub.com/team/house-player-club

2. House club members will send Mr. Cohen a message on Cohen Chess Club asking if we need additional players for that day's tournament. You must receive a YES before joining any tournament other than your own weekly tournament.
   Weekly Tournaments that MAY need house players this week are:
   Tuesday 10am and 4pm EST
   Wednesday 4pm EST
   Friday 4pm and 7pm EST
   Saturday 1pm EST

3. House players will have the House symbol on their name during the tournament. They will not qualify for the GM,IM and NM titles for that club's tournament.

4. House players will accumulate "House Points" equal to their final tournament score with a monthly house player champion being named each month beginning in May
