On September 24th from 3:00-5:00 EST, I will hold our monthly free chess Megatournament for all of my chess clubs. All students are invited to join this exciting 2 hour event but attendance is completely optional.

One exciting change for this month will be our first test of a “Swiss” pairing system for our Megatournament. Instead of students playing different numbers of games as in our weekly arena competitions, students will all play a total of 6 matches that will start every 20 minutes during the 2 hour tournament time. This ensures that students will be paired against opponents with similar scores each round rather than being paired more randomly against whomever is waiting for a match.
